The 15th December 2014 marks the 21st birthday of my beautiful baby sisters. However, with this milestone event, a shadow of sadness follows us as it means it is also 21 years since Holly lost her fight for life, leaving her twin Hannah with us.

Hannah and Holly were born 3 months prematurely, weighing less than 2lbs each. The Tiny Lives Trust, based at the RVI Newcastle, were there for us with their support, advice, help and state of the art facilities and equipment, as they are for thousands of families with poorly and premature babies every year.

Holly lost her battle at just 3 weeks old, after having two operations to fight a bowel infection. Hannah was in hospital for months, and even when she finally came home needed a lot of extra care and attention. Tiny Lives were the glue that stuck everything together, and kept us all going. 

Without them, we don't know what we would have done.

So this is my thank you...

Throughout the year 2015 I intend to take part in regular events and fundraisers in order to raise as much money, and awareness for this amazing charity as possible.

If just one family gets to take their baby home happy and healthy, I know it will all be worth it.

I am kicking off the year with a Surprise 21st Birthday Party for Hannah, which will also be a fundraising party, with a raffle, goodies, great food and drink, and a chance for lots of memories to be shared.

The party is at The Slug and Lettuce on Newcastle Quayside on Sunday 14th December from 8pm. We would love for you to come along and show your support.
