Bonjour bonjour
Along with my sunshine phobic vegitarian sister, we slogged our sorry white arses on moutain bikes across Cambodia for the International Childcare Trust. After the expedidtion we were given the chance to visit the charity project centre which was a somewhat emotional experience for most. The centre supports more than 600 kids... a marvellous NGO, well worth the pain for (www.mloptapang.org).
It was bloody tough... some 500 kilometres in five days. The pain downstairs was cancelled out by total numbness after a week or so and still I've lost the power of my left hand fingers. Then there was the tennis ball sized five legged spiders, nappy rashes, 35 degrees, laxitives, potholes, nutty/blind drivers, strange meats, 5.30am starts - nevermind the mental scars involving lycra and sudocream. At least we certainly entertained the locals we passed by.
So go on, sponsor me! It's dead easy and is a truly fantastic cause for children across Africa & Asia. ICT is only a small charity so they need all the support they can get. (www.ict-uk.org). Between Anna, my dad and me we need to raise a minimum of £9,000 and we've some way to go yet.
Thanks and sweaty pants for all your fantastic support from you all. The highest sponsor gets to keep my lycra shorts that I've been saving....
:D x
