The story

Having spent a memorable youth in Kenya it has always been my ambition to do something back for the country. I left the country some 25 years ago with 25 US Dollars and a dream to make a career in England. Now all these years after a great period in th UK and finally settling down here in Holland I finally can fulfil this ambition by initiating this special project to help towards SOS childrens village in Kisumu.

The project

We have organised in partnership with SOS childrens villages a unique bike ride from AJAX stadium Amsterdam to HSV stadium Hamburg. A distance of 560 km which we will ride in 4 days , from June 16-18. we are 11 riders who will join in an effort to raise more than 25000 € .

Why we chose these clubs?

As everything there is a theme to our project, the whole idea came to me after a brief discussion with Winonah De Jong , wife of Man City player Nigel De Jong, who visited the Kisumu project last year with 4 other dutch football wives. Of course Nigel played for Ajax and moved to HSV,and Ruud van Nistelrooy who plays now for HSV is also an ambassador for SOS childrens villages.Another dutch player Rafael van Der Vaart who now plays for Tottenham also went from Ajax to HSV. So these connections led to our initiative.

Dig deep and make the project a success !
