Ten beards that will never look like Santa's...
One of the most imaginative fundraising pages we've seen on Justgiving
has been set up by Matt Roles to raise money for our latest charity recruit,
Oxfam.
His challenge began as the simple shaving of his trusty beard for charity,
but has now turned into a team effort with nine of his friends joining
in.
Most of them are having to grow their beards before shaving them off,
and the page has a great display of photos of beards in various stages
of growth...

"I'll be sad to see it go — I've had it for a year and a half. My girlfriend's
going to be really shocked," said Matt. "Everyone that's got involved
is getting really into it, it's getting bigger and bigger every week
— it's mad!"
Matt will shave his beard, probably at home and in private, on December
21st for his work Christmas party. Though if the comments on the page
are anything to go by his colleagues may well insist on shaving it for
him...
He is raising money for Oxfam and would like some of the money to be
used for buying goats and calves for poor families in the developing
world.
"It's a good time of year to make a wee sacrifice and change someone's
life forever," he says.
