The Children's Foundation raises essential funds for medical and lifestyle research to combat childhood diseases and conditions such as cerebral palsy and autism. It supports NHS service delivery and a number of innovative, community-based projects designed to improve and protect the health and well-being of children and young people. Through its partnership programmes, it strives to help children in North East England but ultimately children everywhere.

My story

I did it! :-) I think my time was about 2 hours 40 mins which was better than I expected! I jogged gently the whole way round and got overtaken by loads of people.....It was warm and sunny. Everyone was very friendly

Thank you to all my sponsors. I can't tell you how much it encouraged me. the Children's Foundation is such a good cause...

You may know I'm the Chair of Trustees of the Children's Foundation and it is not too late to do a little more fund-raising for them!

The work of the Children's Foundation is critical to the health and wellbeing of Children in the North East. We have 3 strands to our work: raising money for research, working in partnerhip with the NHs and doing community programmes.

Rember the Yellow Brick Road Appeal that built the research institute at the RVI? That was us. Come across Whoops! The accident prevention training service based in Gatehead serving all the North East? That is us. Funding for extra patient benefits at the new Great North Children's Hospital? That is us.

We currently have a focus on disability and mental health of children. It's not easy to raise money for these issues (compared to cancer for example) so please help.
