Hi all,
Well, I managed to hobble round and I actually beat my previous 10K time (just) !!
1:04:41, so a massive 48 seconds improvement !
I wore the Scout's Necker all the way and got some really good comments and encouragement.
Many, many thanks to all who sponsored me and also to those who just wished me well. I reckon we have raised well over £300 for the Switzerland Fund so it has been well worth while.
If you didn't get chance to sponsor me before, IT'S NEVER TO LATE !!!!
What am I doing?
Yet again, I will be lumbering around Leeds for 10k (6.2 miles in old money) on a freezing cold Sunday morning.
This time it is for the 29th South West Leeds Scouts who are off to Switzerland next summer, and who will be considerably warmer than I will be in November in Leeds.....
The Scouts are all fund-raising for the activites that they will do whilst in Switzerland, and all proceeds from this run and all other events that they and their parents do will go into a central pot that the Scout Leaders will use for all of the Scouts that are there. the more money in the pot - the more things they can all do!
I'm hoping to beat my last 10k run of 1:05:29....but the snow/sleat/ice/frost may beat me......!
Thanks - Steve Barnes
