Thank you everyone who sponsored my run for Epilepsy Action!
"The world's biggest half marathon, the BUPA Great North Run, celebrates its 26th anniversary in 2006. The BUPA Great North Run is a point-to-point course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields."
I completed the course in 2 hours, 3 minutes and 34 seconds. Over my goal of under 2 hours therefore, but a good target to beat next time around! Epilepsy Action had around 170 runners, and also provided welcome sports massages at the end which I was very greatful for!
"One in 131 people in the UK has epilepsy - around 456,000 - making it the second most common neurological condition after migraine. In the past, when little was understood about epilepsy, those of us with it often faced quite a bit of prejudice. Thankfully these attitudes are changing in the UK. However, we may still come across those who try to limit our opportunities in life through fear or lack of knowledge. ... Epilepsy Action provides a wide range of services and information to support anybody with an interest in epilepsy."
Thank you everyone for your support. and if you haven't already, you can still sponsor online.
