My story

Having completed the Great Edinburgh Run in a semi respectable time last year, my thoughts turned to my next challenge (yes i must be mad!).

Touched and moved by everyone's kind donations last year I decided that I wanted to push myself a little bit harder this year and be more deserving of your support, though my initial plan has morphed into a madcap scheme I am pleased with what lies in wait and hope to do you all, and Eilidh and Natalie proud.

*Sunday March 11th - Inverness Half Marathon

COMPLETED 2HRS 09MINS 55SECONDS

*Sunday April 22nd - Angus Half Marathon

COMPLETED 2HRS 13MINS 54 SECONDS

*Sunday May 27th - Edinburgh Half Marathon

COMPLETED 2HRS 11 MINS 27 SECONDS

*Sunday 29th July - Dundee Half Marathon

COMPLETED 2HRS 18 MINS 03 SECONDS

*Sunday 2nd September - Great Scottish Run Half Marathon

COMPLETED 2HRS 06 MINS 05 SECONDS

*Sunday 14th October - Aviemore Half Marathon

COMPLETED 2HRS 05 MINS 23 SECONDS

A little bit about why I want to do this...

Our daughter Eilidh was discovered to be amongst the very small percentage (1 in 4000) children to be born without a thyroid gland. This was discovered thanks to early and accurate testing, so often ignored but so important to our children. One small test and Eilidh leads a normal life. The BTF is important to us as we want to ensure that research into all types of thyroid conditions in children continue and that parents like us continue to get all the support and information they so desperately need.

I hope that this will be year two of many fundraising events for me and assure you that any support is massively appreciated, there is no such thing as too small.

Eilidh is to be one of the faces of the BTF's new childrens poster campaign and has also been invited to the Palace of Westminster for a charity event. I will try to post pictures as and when and also update you all as to my progress.

Thanks again

Steve, Natalie & Eilidh

Last of the six done, Aviemore half in time of 2hrs 5mins 23secs. Another PB. Beautiful run around Loch Morlich and great to finish to Natalie and Eilidh whose support has been immense. Nice route through forest makes a change from pounding roads. Thanks to everyone x

GSR Half Mara yesterday. Upgraded from 10k after injury forced Eilidh's papa out. Out till midnight at party, limited (no) training and get a PB! Go figure! Thanks again to everyone...for all your support. One left to go....Legs sore today though!

03/09/12 13:03

Dundee Half Dram completed. Slowest of the lot so far but thanks to all who came out to support me. Was a real slog and found the last two miles torture but given my lack of training (none) of late was delighted to finish! Really enjoyed this one and hope to be back next year!

30/07/12 14:46

Edinburgh half completed in beautiful sunshine, well if you weren't running in it! Lovely route along Portobello Esplanade but 2hrs 11mins 27 secs a bit disappointed for a route that could have offered a PB. What? Don't know why i care either. Thanks for your continued support!!

28/05/12 10:54

Angus Half completed. 2hrs 13mins 54 seconds. Slower than Inverness, but last mile all uphill, now to rest my legs!!!!!!! Thanks for your continued support! Two down and delighted so far with all the support and how well its going
