Story
Thank you for helping me reach my target....my aim now is to raise as much money as possible!! So please still donate.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, synovial sarcoma. The Royal Marsden Hospital has spent the last 5 years doing an amazing job at keeping me alive. While my battle with cancer continues, so does the incredible support that I receive from the Royal Marsden. The knowledge and expertise of the doctors and nurses I see each week is world class and I cannot say thank you enough for the amazing care I have received over the years from so many special people.
This is my chance, while I still can, to try and give something back. With the help of my best pal Nicola Birney and my mum, Glenys Stittle we are planning to walk the 14 miles of the Marsden March. It's a 14 mile sponsored walk between the Royal Marsden in Chelsea to the Royal Marsden in Sutton. It might not sound the most difficult of challenges, but for me having had surgery to remove half a lung in 2009 and finishing 5 months of chemo for more lung tumours weeks before the walk....this is gonna be TOUGH!
The money the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises goes towards supporting the pioneering work the hospital continues to do, in both research and the treatment of patients.
Thank you all so much for supporting a charity that means so much to me, Nic and my mum.
