I'm lucky enough to work for Womankind, a fantastic charity improving 1000s of women's lives all over the world.  In some countries, this could involve accompanying a girl to a village meeting so she can tell her community that it's against the law for a girl to be forced to marry a man after he has raped her. Or we might provide legal help to enable a woman to obtain a divorce from a man who beats her, or work with the police to encourage them to help women rather than return them to their husbands.

So to keep this work going through difficult economic times and to increase the number of women who benefit from our work, I've decided to run for Womankind - and as someone who has never run anywhere, that's a pretty big deal! And I'm hoping you will support my efforts by sponsoring me with whatever you can afford.
