Summit-2-Sea / 17th September 2011
8 Environment Agency Hydrometry officers, 130 miles, 1 day.
We're running in aid of Eden Valley Hospice which gives essential support for those with terminal illnesses and their families.
We'll be running (in relay) the full length of the River Eden, tracing it along the nearest roads. Starting at the EA raingauge at Aisgill on the Yorkshire / Cumbria border, we'll descend down to Rockcliffe (where the Eden enters the Solway Firth), passing many of the teams work sites on the way. And then we run back.

The team:
Andrew Booth: Only started running running in Oct 2010. Running one stint of 23 miles.
Pete Miles & Helen: Pete has been around the running block a few times. Running with partner Helen (the real runner in this duo), they're doing two stints of 11 and 10 miles.
Nick Tait: Had ideas on a half marathon, but decided 18 miles sounded like a good idea instead.
Magnus Williams: The team outsider, having worked with us for only a short period, but magnificently stepping up to the 20 mile challenge.
Martin Wilson: Assuming his knees don't get nobbled, Martin is going for the half marathon.
Mark Burton: Arm twisted? Never! Mark has gallantly agreed to two stints of 5.5 miles each.
Shelley Gant: Speed demon Shelley will be showing us a clean set of heels and will be setting the pace on her 14 mile stint.
Dawn Wicks: Upping her mileage, Dawn will no doubt be cruising on her 10 mile stint.
Dave Spiby: kindly hovering in the wings, Dave is our stand-in in case one of us chickens out.
Please give generously. Half the team have never done any sort of serious running before this year, and so needless to say we're all pushing our mileage to raise as much as we can for Eden Valley Hospice.
This is going to hurt....But no pain, no gain :-)
