Good news!
On 7th August 2009 I completed my walk from Haworth to Burnley in memory of my brother Nicholas who was killed in a road accident 20 years ago to the day on 7th August 1989 in order to raise funds for the road safety charity Brake.
The sun shone and I managed to complete the walk in six hours. I was surprised to find that Burnley is home to one of the nicest Victorian parks and has an enormous boating lake. I can recommend a visit to anyone considering a tour of the heritage sites of the Industrial North.
Many thanks to all who have so generously sponsored me and especially a very big thank you to my employer Archant who have matched the £894.50 raised.
