Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. About 10% of the British population are dyslexic. As many of you will know, our son Ewan is dyslexic.

For parents of dyslexic children, the discovery that your child has a specific learning difficulty can be a difficult and traumatic experience. Dyslexia is not an obvious difficulty; it is hidden. As a result, dyslexic people have to overcome numerous barriers to make a full contribution to society. However, dyslexia need not be a barrier to success and many of the most successful people in our society have been dyslexic. The challenge is to ensure that parents and educators are properly informed about how dyslexia can affect the learning process for children and are able to use the most effective solutions to assist dyslexic children to demonstrate their potential.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) campaign for a dyslexia friendly society where barriers to dyslexic people do not exist. The BDA works to ensure that ALL people with dyslexia are able to fufill their potential.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
