As many of you are already aware, I lost my darling hubby to cancer in February 2007 and towards the latter part of his life, he was looked after by the darling Angels at Kirkwood Hospice. They made such a difference to the end of his life and provide an absolutely amazing service to many seriously ill and terminally ill patients across Kirklees. The staff, from nursing, administration, fundraising and counselling are all superstars and go over and above what I'm sure they are asked to do as part of their job.
It is because of these angels that the end of my hubby's life, although traumatic, was not as traumatic as it may have been and I will forever be grateful to them.
In addition to volunteering my time at weekends to the hospice, I have chosen to show my gratitude by taking part in as many events as I possibly can, and getting family and friends involved where possible to try to raise much needed funds to help them continue to run the service.
