Hello, we are the Dirty Weekenders:Tracy, Gareth aka G-Man, Calberth 'Charlie' Charles, James, Denise and Paul. We have all decided to take part in the Rat Race - Dirty Weekend, which is held on the 11th May 2013.   Did we really think about what's in store? .... No we did not, 200 obstacles over 20 miles is our challenge.

Are we the fittest bunch??? We’re not bad but we’re no marathon runners.

So we got to thinking what would keep us motivated and we decided we would like to support ‘WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR”.  Tracy has had first hand experience at seeing how wonderful this charity is.  A few years ago, one of her close family friends had the devastating news that their son had Leukaemia and after a long battle they lost him to this.  Before he passed away, WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR stepped in and fulfilled his dream of going to Lap Land and provided precious memories for him and his family.

 

The charity’s main aim is to raise funds and grant wishes of children suffering from life threatening illnesses and we certainly what to be part of making those dreams come true.  Granting these wishes costs money, and though this is a top class charity, it constantly needs financial support from outside.
