CARE 24 Peaks Challenge supported by Lexicon Partners · 26 June 2010 ·

CARE International is a humanitarian organisation leading the fight to end poverty in the world’s most challenging situations. Women and girls are at the centre of our work, because we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.

Story

On 26-27th June, a group of 7 of us from Talbot Underwriting Ltd are attempting for to climb all 24 peaks that the Lake district has to offer in 24 hours, that's a staggering peak every hour! Our journey will include England's highest mountain -  Scafell Pike (978m).

Dangerous - Yes, Painful - Of course, Worth it - Most definitely.

Throughout this perilous journey across craggy rocks and windswept mountains, we are looking to raise £6,000 for CARE International.

CARE stands as one of the world’s top three aid agencies, fighting poverty and injustice at the roots and helping over 65 million people each year in 70 countries. CARE works in partnership with businesses and governments to help them develop sustainable solutions and replace quick fixes to confront poverty.

The Charity has decades of experience running development programmes from safe drinking water systems in Tanzania to girl's education projects in India, as well as responding in times of emergency.

£6,000 can help 12 villages in Uganda or Malawi set up small businesses.

Please help us support their great work and sponsor us by making a donation.

Thanks in advance for your generosity!
