Throughout 2015 a group of close friends took on a number of challenges after losing a special friend, Carly, aged 34 to cancer.

They took on events such as the 3 Peak Challenge, the Cardiff Half Marathon the Rainbow Run plus many more which resulted in over £15,000 being raised for MacMillan.

Andrew Jones (Bonesy) from Ton Pentre also got involved and competed the Edinburgh Marathon raising over £3000 and Jason Miles (Milesy) and Shaun Bundy completed a skydive and bungee jump on the same day, raising just under £1400 for the charity. 

But it's not ending there, Chris Evans from Ton Pentre has kindly volunteered to take on some serious hardcore events in 2016 with all proceeds going to #teamcarlysangels in aid of Macmillan cancer support. He will be competing in:

- Cardiff world half marathon
- Velothon race Cardiff
- Titan (half iron man)
- Iron man Tenby

Carly Willis was diagnosed with cervical and ovarian cancer in Dec 2012 and sadly passed away 17 months later leaving behind her beautiful daughter Mia.

The girls from the South Wales Rhondda Valleys set the bar high and completed in various events throughout 2015 for MacMillan who supported Carly and her family in her final days.

The friends involved are; Claire Edwards, Cerys Edwards, Kim Wines, Rachel Williams, Rebecca Williams, Stacy Evans, Jessica Shipman, Gemma Ellis, Carly Cole, Shelley Lewis, Laurie Martin, Paula Yates, Georgia Berry and Louise Dwyer. 

They took on various challenges throughout 2015:
