My story
Thank you for taking time to visit the Team SCBU just giving page!
We are raising money to support the Neo Natal Intensive Care Baby Unit at Newport’s Royal Gwent hospital.
The unit does some amazing work looking after babies that require serious attention such as; • Babies born early who may need extra help breathing, feeding and keeping warm, and the earlier they are born the more help they are likely to need. • Babies who are very small or who have life-threatening conditions, usually affecting their breathing, heart and circulation. • Babies born to diabetic mothers, or babies where the delivery has been very difficult, may need to be kept under close observation for a time. • Babies with very marked jaundice. • Babies awaiting or recovering from complex surgery. The money raised will be placed in the charitable fund for the Unit and used at the discretion of the doctors and nurses to provide additional benefits for the care and treatment of patients. An umbrella charity that uses funds to enhance services delivered by Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board, formally Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust . Funds are utilised for patient welfare and amenities, purchase of equipment and staff education and welfare. Every donation is gratefully received and makes a big difference to individual services and the care each hospital provides.
