Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity.

We have taken on the challenge of walking 100k from London to Brighton on 24 May 2014.  We are raising money for the charity JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).  The funds raised will go towards vital research to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic illness, usually diagnosed from infancy to late 30's and is life-changing. It is NOT caused by lifestyle choices - it is an autoimmune disease. The body's immune system attacks and destroys cells in the pancreas which produce insulin, which allows gulcose to pass into our cells which is then used for energy. Someone with Type 1 diabetes has to inject insulin whenever they eat and also monitor their blood glucose levels throughout the day through a finger prick test.

Living with Type 1 is tough. Every penny counts and is greatly apprectiated.

Wish us luck!
