UPDATE 14/9/2009 - Wow, what a full on 24 hours last weeks semi final was. The first 5 hours we spent split up from our teams and were mixed up with the other semi finalists to complete 9 different tasks. Then we spent most of the evening up to midnight on team challenges. With little sleep (mainly due to the number of snoring campers (why do the loud snorers always get to sleep first)) we were up at 5am to complete various tasks. We then had the more ardous task of waiting until Monday morning to hear the result. After much nail biting and nervous anticipation Team Link are delighted to announce that they have been selected as on of the 3 finalists to travel to Malawi on 16/10/2009 to participate in this years project.
We would like to thank everyone for their amazing generosity in achieving such a fantastic donations total, and it is still increasing!
We will put further details about our once in a lifetime experience when we return.
Needed - 70,000 Bricks!
QBE Team Link need your help! Challenge Africa.co.uk have been working with communities in Africa for the past 5 years. Over this period over 500 teams have entered their annual competition for a chance to work in Africa assisting them in their work with African communities. This years challenge will culminate with 3 lucky teams taking the trip of a lifetime to help refurbish a school in Mamine, on the edge of the Majete Game Park, Malawi, with new classrooms and teacher accommodation. As well as community & wildlife conservation projects

There are 18 teams in the semi final and each team needs to find a creative but simple way to raise money that will go directly to the community project. As there are no administration costs involved at this stage every penny that is raised will go directrly to the project.
This is where Team Link need your help. We are offering 'Bricks for Sale' Every donation that is made for a brick will help in the construction of the classrooms and accommodation. The whole project will require approximately 70,000 bricks! If Team Link are successful in the semi final we will be travelling to Malawi to help refurbish the school and build the new classrooms and teacher accommodation and to undertake the community & wildlife conservation projects. There is no minimum donation but please remember to Gift Aid your donations. Of course larger donations could be used to buy more than just a brick. Desks, chairs, blackboards etc. If everyone donates a little we can make a huge difference to the lives of the children in Marnine.
In addition to "Buy a Brick" we are running a charity 5 a side competition in London, Buy a Bic (biscuit & cup of tea) in Dublin and a charity treasure hunt in Manchester
Thank you for your donation!
