We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This is a first for all of us in the team, a leap into the unknown you might say, as we prepare for the Brighton Marathon 2013. We wanted to take part in a challenge which quite frankly scared us a little but would also make us proud of ourselves, whilst making a difference to those who are also going into the unknown; with the diagnosis of dementia in the family.

As people live longer, so the threat of dementia looms, where personalities fade and family and friends become strangers to their loved ones. Please help us in the fight to improve lives and treatments for dementia by sponsoring Alzheimer's Society. We want to remember our first marathon for the rest of our lives, with your donation you can help keep memories alive for longer.

Worldwide, nearly 35.6 million people live with dementia and only eight countries worldwide currently have national programmes in place to address it (WHO Report 2012).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
