Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The last three days have seen me complete over 200 miles and cross into France, communication is now difficult as my phone is not connecting and I cannot update this blog through my phone anyway.  Suffice to say all is going well and i will update as and when I can, but now I need to get some sleep

It is getting close to my starting off towards Paris and I am extremely grateful for all the contributions made so far.  The actual total looks quite small but lots of people have donated directly to me and I am going to put them all on the page eventually so the figure is nearer £2,000 with more promised, but obviously well short of my target.

That is because I have failed to get in front of enough businesses for corporate sponsorship so if you can help in any way please do something as every penny is so important to those veterans and their dependants future.  More importantly I am trying to build long term relationships with business to support this vital work, so if you have any ideas or suggestions contact me on teamtewkesbury@hotmail.com

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Hi

My name is Peter and this year I am going to cycle to as part of the British Legion's poppy appeal.  The event runs from , to over four days however, I have decided to extend that distance by starting two days earlier from in Gloucestershire.  I have called the project Team Tewkesbury; because although I am the only cyclist I will have a team of supporters, sponsors etc and they deserve the recognition as well.  More details follow further down.

There is a great opportunity for companies to gain from my efforts and I have put together corporate packages for all budgets, so why not gain from my pain!

I am please to announce that two local businesses have joined Team Tewkesbury and are providing invaluable support to my efforts to raise money for The Royal British Legion poppy appeal 2010.

The Vivid Consultancy, a Tewkesbury based PR Company are helping with the promotion of Team Tewkesbury by giving me invaluable advice and direction to promote as much corporate interest in the Pedal to Paris as possible.  Holly and Lauren have already provided me with ideas and suggestions as well as providing leads into local media contacts to generate maximum publicity.  For more information on Vivid, please go to http://www.thevividconsultancy.com

I am also pleased to announce that based Gym and Tonic has joined Team Tewkesbury.  Chris will design and monitor a fitness programme to ensure that I have the best preparation to complete the 400-mile cycle.  I will publish details of the programme later and provide a commentary of my progress.  I approached Gym and Tonic because it has a friendly and professional attitude and its location.  I am confident that we will have a successful partnership in the coming months. For more information on the health and Fitness Club go to www.gymandtonic.co.uk

New Sponsors

I am pleased to announce that I have secured new sponsors for two crucial areas of my cycle.  Mark & Melanie have recently purchased the local business Auto Spares Tewkesbury and Mark has agreed to provide logistical support for maintenance of my bike and will also provide logistic support for the two days that I will be cycling from Tewkesbury to London.

Mark and Melanie already own a successful courier business www.http://www.connect-couriers.com/index.html and Mark and I have discussed the Pedal to Paris event many times.   He was aware that I wanted to approach Auto Spares Tewkesbury to discuss sponsorship but the business appeared to be closed down.  Unbeknown to me he and Melanie were in discussions with the business owner to effect a take over and that is what has happened.

As soon as the business take over was complete Mark contacted me to say that Auto Spares Tewkesbury would sponsor me by providing maintenance on my current bike and also provide spares (including another bike) for the Tewkesbury to London leg.  Furthermore Connect Couriers would provide a van to carry the spares and accompany me to London.

This is great news for me and I am delighted to include Auto Spares Tewkesbury and Connect Couriers as part of Team Tewkesbury

Gold Sponsor

I am pleased to welcome the Tewkesbury Saw Company Ltd as a Gold Sponsor
