My friend, Tess Maddock, died last October so I'm raising money in memory of her.  Tess gave me a photo album at school, which instead of photos, it has pieces of paper with things that Tess thought I would do during my lifetime.  One of them is ‘Celia running a marathon’ so I’m going to do it!  And at the same time raise some money for a charity that Tess and I visited on our gap year.

 

The charity is Women in Need and it helps Indian women who have been abandoned on the streets due to leprosy, HIV/AIDS, mental illness or any other reason.  These women become victims of rape and abuse.  Women in Need provides a much needed safe haven with medical, psychological and social support.

 

The charity receives no government support and relies entirely on private donations. So please donate as there is always more that can be done to help these women, if the funds are there to support it!
