Hi all,
Edward was born five weeks early on July 6, 2009 and within days became very poorly. We were admitted to SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) at Wexham Park Hospital. Here he was treated for a 14% loss of his birthweight, dehydration and jaundice. For 8 days, the nurses at the Special Care Baby Unit not only looked after our son, but also kept Leah and I somewhat sane. The care and attention and the love they provided was without comparison.
Thanks to them we now have a very happy healthy boy that is doing all the things that young boys do. (Keeping us up at nights, opening cuboards, trying to run before he can walk, wanting to play, making us laugh...a sheer joy to be around!)
The money I am looking to raise is to provide much needed specialist equipment to ensure other parents are able to take their babies home, and like us, will be able to celebrate their 1st and subsequent birthdays as a family.
Thank you
Edward's Dad (Ian Newland)
P.S. By raising £500, LIoyds Bank Charity scheme will donate another £500.
