To celebrate The Jennifer Trust's 25th Year we are aiming to raise £20,000 with our Research Appeal. The money raised will be used to fund a brand new project over two years where we will take on a Post Graduate PhD Student in the SMA Research field. This post will compile and collate all the latest SMA research news from across the globe for our new website keeping you abreast of the latest developments. Along side this they will attend key national and international meetings to represent the charity, maintaining our profile in the research sector. By doing this we will be supporting the next generation of up coming researchers in their quest to ultimately find a cure.
A supporter of the Jennifer Trust, Siobhan Whitfield, Type 1 Parent said: 'We feel that research is so important so that a cure can be found as soon as possible. SMA type 1, which our daughter Mollie died from, is such a devastating condition and to put an end to it would mean everything to us and the promise we made to Mollie that we would always continue to raise awareness of SMA so hopefully one day other babies and children do not have to suffer.'
