The Swan Company Ltd is raising funds for Casa do Caminho, (literally 'House of the Street'), an orphanage in a desperately poor part of Brazil, which is also working to alleviate poverty within the wider community.  Please click on the link on the left of this page for more information about their work, and also to see their video.

In our first fund-raising venture, Margaret MacKenzie, a Director of The Swan Company, is going on a sensible, healthy sponsored slim.  Margaret would like to lose 6 stone.  We are asking you to sponsor Margaret for the first 3 stones that she loses.

You might ask  ’’What happens if Margaret puts the weight back on after she has lost it? Isn’t that cheating?’’    

Because all money raised goes straight to Casa do Caminho, and they need it more than you do, they won't give you your money back BUT Margaret will repay all of your money, from her own pocket, if she puts all the weight back on again. This means that you don’t lose out and, best of all, Casa do Caminho don’t lose out.

So what will your money be doing?:

£   1.00 pays for seeds for the orphanage vegetable patch

£   5.00 pays for food for a child for a week.

£   10.00 pays for accommodation for one child for two weeks.

£   20.00 pays for a child's education for a month

£   50.00 pays for a child's health care for a year.

Of course, there are millions of other uses your money can be put to, all of them desperately needed.

We will acknowledge any donations made and, if you let us have your email address, will send you a lovely thank you Certificate of Loveliness.  You can print this off, put this up on the wall and feel good about yourself, give it to a friend or loved one as a really worthwhile present or make a paper aeroplane out of it - the choice is yours.  Or you could not print it off, and send it to everyone in your email address book, to show what a lovely warm person you are.   :o)
