<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">We are going to attempt to complete the Stratford-Upon-Avon marathon on the 8th May, in the hope of raising some funds for the Moorfields Eye Hospital Development Fund (Charity No 282806) which is based in London.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">This cause is very close to Karen’s heart as her 18 month old nephew Ryan was diagnosed as having Glaucoma and is undergoing extensive treatment at Moorfields.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Glaucoma is rare in young children and is more commonly known as an older persons disease.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is currently not curable and if left untreated can lead to blindness, but developments are continuing to be made.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">The charity has been set up to continue to improve the quality of care for patients.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">The marathon is a full 26.2 miles and Anita and Karen hope to complete it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>However, there are time constraints on the first half of the marathon and if they are not within these the half marathon will be determined.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There is also a time limit on the full marathon and if not finished within this then the course can not be completed.</span></span></p>
