WE DID IT!
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Fab Three JustGiving page, and we hope that you will sponsor us, all funds raised going to Amy's Retreat, helping families who have children with cancer.
The Fab Three are Gabrielle, Louise and Rachel, running in memory of our beloved Alex and Griff. As 'seasoned' Sheffield Half Marathon runners, albeit we get slower each year (not Rach), we decided this year to branch out. We set our sights on doing three major runs starting with the Sheffield half, then the Great North Run and finishing with the Liverpool MARATHON on 9 October.
We completed the Sheffield half in May, with Michael as well, during which Louise was in excruciating pain caused by, we later discovered, a serious back injury. This has meant that Louise has been unable to train and this has had an enormous impact on Gabrielle and Rachel's training programme as Louise was the organised one.
Anyway, Rachel and Gabrielle ploughed on with grim determination, so please sponsor us. We completed the Great North Run (18 September), along with Mike Latham and Alex Henderson and Russ Singleton, unfortunately Mike, Alex and Russ somehow just pipping us to the post. And then on 9 October we somehow managed to run the Liverpool marathon.
Losing our beautiful and sparky Alex to cancer when she was five means we do know what it is like to receive such a devastating diagnosis, and it affects the whole family. All donations, no matter how small, will make a real difference to families who have children with cancer and who are going through such a difficult time.
