UPDATE:
Yipeee we've completed the marathon (now be able to have legs that work again at the weekend)
Tiff and I had a fantastic weekend, we arrived in Inverness on Saturday to 70Mph winds and driving rain, however the Sunday was fantastic no wind and sun, but still a bit cold.
The race had just under 4 thousand entries we finished 1731 and 1732 in a time of 4.48 not bad for a first marathon and hilly course. Tiff said shes not that keen on doing another, although when I told her she could easily take 40 min off on a flat course, I could see her competitive side come out, and ask how much harder is a sub 4 hour?
Tiff did especially well, we ran a consistant pace through out and the second half was faster than the first and the last mile was run in less than 8 min.
Anyway thanks for all your support.
Neil and Tiff
Yes, we are running the Lochness Marathon a full 26.2 miles this weekend on the 4th Oct, I guess we have waited this long before getting sponsorship as we've been uncertain as to whether we would be able to complete the training.
This is going to be Tiffs first Marathon, actually tiff has never run in any race before so it really is a case of in at the deep end for her. She has really been through a lot of pain training for this however there is a medal and soup at the end of the marathon so its all worth it.
This will be my first Marathon since I bust my ankle a couple of years ago, so we are both nervous about the day.
We are running for the Orangutan charity. This charity is concerned with saving rain forest habitat and rehabilitation for orangutans. And since visiting Borneo it is a charity that has been close to Tiffs heart.
