Thorpe Dental Group prides itself is supporting our local communities through sponsorship and doing what we can for charity.

This year as a team we have decided to do a 20 mile bike ride around these communites, with all money raised going to the SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit at York Hospital).

This unit has been purpose built and provides care for up to 15 babies. Two of the cots are dedicated for intensive care; the remainder are used for high dependency and special care needs of the babies in their care. The unit admits approximatley 375 babies per year.

Two and a half years ago our principal dentist, Kris Leesons son was admitted to this very unit. He had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and was in there for 7 days.
