I'll be taking part in the HSBC OlympicTriathlon on Sunday 18th Sept. This will be my first triathlon and I've somehow managed to allow myself to be talked into the full olympic distance. For those of you who don't know, this is 1500m swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run.
I have decided to raise money for Dementia UK, a national charity committed to improving quality of life for all people affected by dementia. My Father passed away in 2004 after a long struggle with Pick's disease, so I have seen close up the strain that dementia places on so many families / carers and the massive need that exists to support the work of charities like Dementia UK.
