My story
As some of you may know during the past six months I have been training on my bike in a vein attempt to get fit enough to compete in the Alpine Challenge, a somewhat gruelling cycle race that takes place through the stunning scenery of the French and Swiss Alps in early September.
The challenge provides the opportunity for amateur riders to tackle a series of mountain ascents all of which have at some stage been famous climbs on the 'Tour de France'.
The Challenge comprises the sum total of 335km and involves climbing the grand total of 6,300 metres during the gruelling four day race.
I thought that I should not let the opportunity to pass whilst undertaking this challenge to invite you good people to be willing sponsors contributing whatever you can kindly give towards the Donna Louise Trust.
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust provides a specialist community nursing team who care for children with life threatening conditions and provide support for the whole family at the hospice and in their own home. Please dig deep as your money makes a huge difference the lives of these deserving children.

<b>The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust</b> provides respite for children with life threatening conditions and support for the whole family at the hospice and in their own home. Our hospice called Treetops, is based in Trentham, on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent. Here we provide respite and end of life care for children from all over Staffordshire and South Cheshire that are between the ages of 0 and 19 years and have a life-threatening illness. We provide a safe, caring environment where children and families can truly feel at home. <p> A community nursing team provide respite and end of life care to children and families within their own homes. <p> Currently the Trust cares for 160 children from South Cheshire and Staffordshire. Its annual running costs of £2 million are obtained mainly from public donations. </p>
