Story
In 2010, at the age of 45, I ran my first London Marathon. Six months of training, 5 pairs of trainers, one washing machine, and hundreds of bars of chocolate later I crossed the finish line.26 miles and 385 yards in 5 hours and 46 minutes.
In 2012 - I finished in 5 hours and 10 minutes. Together we raised a staggering £10,212 to support my efforts in these two races.
This year I want to hit two targets, so I can stop!
I want to finish the race in under 5 hours; and
I would like to exceed a total raised £15,000
Why am I doing this?
Why am I doing this? Diarrhoea kills more children every year than AIDS, malaria and measles combined. That’s almost 2,000 children a day dying from unsafe water and poor sanitation. WaterAid works in 27 of the world’s poorest countries to solve this problem.
So I’m running for the charity WaterAID, who work in 27 of the poorest countries in Africa and Asia to solve this problem. Since 1981 they reached 16 million people with safe water, 11 million with sanitation.
So please dig deep and donate now AND THEN PLEASE SHOUT IT OUT TO YOUR FRIENDS and encourage them to support too.
