Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As most of you know i lost my Mum back in 1997 to cancer and Greenwich and Bexley Hospice was where she was cared for in the last few weeks of her life. This organisation's staff and volunteers care for adult patients with a wide range of chronic and terminal conditions. They not only care for the patients but their families and loved ones as well. I will never forget the compasion and support we received while my Mum sadly lost her battle, as well as the excellent care she received whilst she was in their Hospice in Abbey Wood.

Last year, they cared for over 2,500 patients and families and were supported by many more members of the community through donations, legacies, trusts and at many fundraising events.

The Hospice does not charge for its services and only about one third of their funding comes from the NHS, which means that they depend on the generosity of, mostly local, individuals, trusts, organisations and businesses to raise more than 4 million pounds annually so that they can continue to provide care to people when it matters most.

Roo and I have decided if people would like to give us a present then we would love it to be in the form of a donation to Greenwich and Bexley Hospice. It is a great way for us to give something back and a great way for us to remember Mum on our wedding day. It is a great organisation that does a lot for people going through tough times and they are sorely in need of funding to continue this care.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - We raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thakyou for your donations in advance and please leave your details so we can thank you personally, it really means a lot to both of us.
