My story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Once again, I'm up to daft shenanigans, but let me explain what this is all about.
Kay, Sarah and I are going to be raising money for Community Links, an utterly brilliant charity that helps impoverished kids and people that don't have all the luxuries, skills and headstarts in life that I know I had.
My reasons behind this are to give something back, cos being born lucky isn't something I can say I've earned. By doing this I'm hoping to help pay back the debt of some of that good luck.
We needed a plan as to what we could do and some foolish fool suggested a Triatholon and I thought GREAT IDEA, so I immediately signed us up for one.
When the red mist had settled I realised that I'd signed us up for the hardest one out there. The Olympic standard. Ooh am I going to regret this and the girls may never forgive me.
However, the pain and agony will be very easily assuaged by your kind selves. Our bodies will ache that little bit less if we can see that we've done this for a good reason, and that reason would be a generous donation by yourselves to Community Links on our behalves.
Dig as deep as you feel you can folks. This is very very important and I'd really like to see all of you on here helping me to help those that don't have the good things in life that we all have in abundance.
Also, if you'd like to do something on Saturday August 4th, other than just head for your local, why not come down to the Excel centre to watch our efforts and cheer us on. Don't worry, the event starts at 16:00 so you don't even have to get up early to come and watch. COME ON, there are even handy pubs nearby so you can wave a tasty pint at us as we go by to give us some incentive! :)
Donating through Justgiving.com is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Community Links will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now.
Huge thanks for your support!
