Story

Thank you for visiting my page! As some of you may be aware I have decided to sign myself up to complete the Brighton Marathon on the 15th April 2012. Many of you may be thinking, "I never knew he was a keen runner," the truth is I'm not but I am running the gruelling 26.2 mile (42.2km) course to raise funds for an amazing charity, the Hep C Trust.

There are an estimated 130-170 million people worldwide infected with hepatitis C, with some people not showing symptoms for up to a decade after infection. Unfortunately many people know very little about hepatitis C until it affects someone they know. This was the case for me until recently, when someone I know under went a liver transplant as a result of hepatitis C. Seeing the affect the disease had not just on the individual but on friends and family made me assess how little is known about the disease and inspired me to raise awareness surrounding the virus, as well as raise funds for this worthy cause.

The Hep C Trust is a patient run organisation, which is working hard to raise awareness about the virus and the many ways it can be contracted. It also provides information, support and representation for people with hepatitis C, as well as promoting the benefits of getting tested. To find out more about the charity and the hepatitis C virus go to their website http://www.hepctrust.org.uk/.

Please show your support for this fantastic cause by donating now, its simple, fast and totally secure. Also if you are a UK tax payer please don't forget to add gift aid to your donation to help me raise even more for the charity!

So please dig deep and donate now.
