3 Marathons In Under 13 Hours To Celebrate 2013 · 5 December 2012

Ripple Effect is creating a wave of change in rural Africa. Our farmers learn, grow and sell more, releasing the potential in their land and lives. Then they pass the knowledge on, creating a wave of change across rural Africa.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page, its 2013 so I thought I would run three full marathons: the Brighton Marathon (14th April), North Dorset Village Marathon (5th May) and the Giants Head Marathon (29th June). If this wasn't hard enough I will aim to complete them all within a combined time of 13 Hours or less!! Why you ask?

To raise money for an amazing cause called Send a Cow. A charity that works hand in hand with poor families in Africa, teaching them the skills they need to build new lives free from poverty and hunger. By providing training, livestock, seeds and support, they restore hope and create stronger communities for the future. In turn, these families then pass on young livestock, seeds or training to others. And so on. And so on. Allowing Send a Cow to help even more people to develop skills, confidence and self respect. For more information about the charity visit their website: http://www.sendacow.org.uk. So please help them to continue their amazing work and support me in my mammoth challenge!

Here's a few ideas of where your sponsorship goes:

£14 - provides a piglet, which through breeding can help increase a families income

£30 - provides a goat, which provides meat, manure and milk to a family

£40 - provides seeds and tools, which gives a family everything they need to start growing

£50 - provides 10 chickens with each providing 200 eggs per year

£250 - provides a Water Store allowing safe water to be collected all-year round

£750 - provides a dairy cow giving families a supply of fresh milk and vital manure to spread on food crops

I would love to raise enough money to send a dairy cow, so for an added incentive if I reach £400 in sponsorship by the 1st March I will run the Brighton Marathon in a farmyard animal costume. With the biggest donor chosing which animal.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and I hope together we can raise lots of money for this great charity!
