Story
We, as a family, will be trying to raise as much as possible by running/walking in 2014 for The Brain Tumour Charity.
We're kicking off the year with Steph running a Half Marathon in Reading on March 2nd and then one month later, Steph and I are going wild and taking part in the Brighton MARATHON April 6th! Yes, that's right, we're going the whole 26.2 miles!
We have charity places in the marathon so we'd really appreciate every penny you can spare to help to reach our target of £1000.
We are also hosting the #RunBennettsRun Raffle which you can read all about here: http://stephsbubble.com/runbennettsrun-raffle-prizes/
There are some amazing prizes and tickets are just £2 each. If you make a donation to claim raffle tickets please email me at stephsbubble@gmail.com with contact details so we can call you if you win a prize!
Beyond April, I have a personal mission to run at least 1000 kilometers by 31 December 2014. Having run just short of 500 last year this could be a tall order but now I've got the marathon on my to do list it's looking more and more possible :)
The rest of the family are all getting involved too in bake sales, raffles, collections and more and all funds raised will be added to our total here.
We'll keep you updated on our progress throughout the year on Steph's blog: www.stephsbubble.com and our running blog www.rtwflag.com.
You might be wondering what's motivated us? Well here's the story behind our challenge:
In 2010 Steph was diagnosed with a low grade glioma - a form of brain tumour. It was discovered accidentally and while it doesn't affect her day to day, she goes for regular MRIs to check it's behaving itself.
By raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity we hope to help those who are affected by brain tumours and invest in research into ongoing improvements to medical care.
After all, our brains are our harddrives and they need looking after :)
Thank you all for supporting us. Tony
Oh and you can find me on Twitter as @Papa_Bubble and Steph as @StephsBubble to follow our progress and training!
