My story

Whilst rock climbing in Spain some years ago I fell 60 foot, broke my back, fractured my skull, punctured my lungs and suffered total paralysis of my right leg. The surgeons told me that they would have to amputate my right foot, my fractured skull had left me a potential candidate for epilepsy and I would never be able to walk normally again

Fortunately my physio had a different view of the world and got me from my wheelchair to the finishing line of the Welsh Iron Man’s 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle & 26 mile run.

It is amazing the strength you can find when you have a caring professional team supporting you.

Compassion, support and comfort are what the staff at South London’s Trinity Hospice provide. Its £6 million pa running costs are raised through charitable donations, and so I would be extremely grateful if you could sponsor me a few pounds to help support this wonderful institution and the great people who work there.

Trinity Hospice

Charity Registration No. 1013945

Trinity Hospice provides care for people with advanced illnesses within their homes or at the hospice. We support them in living every moment and achieving the best possible quality of life. Everyone receives the treatment and support they require however long it is needed, free of charge. We offer our services to a population of ¾ million people in central and southwest London and support over 2,000 people a year. This financial year we must raise close to £7.6m, only around a third of which comes from the NHS. We were founded in 1891 and are the oldest hospice in the UK.
