In February 2011 myself and friend Nigel Smilie will attempt to reach the summit of the Mount Kilimanjaro. I'm sharing what money I raise 50 / 50 between 2 great charities The Daniel Worrall Memorial Trust and the Make-a-Wish Foundation
The Daniel Worrall Memorial Trust. Just days after celebrating New Year with his family and friends, Daniel Worrall was suddenly and tragically killed in a road accident. He was just 20 years old. In celebration of his life, of all that he achieved and all that he gave to us, Daniel’s family and friends founded the Daniel Worrall Memorial Trust, a charity committed to providing facilities and equipment which enable and encourage young people, of all abilities, to participate in sport
Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. At any given time, over 20,000 children in the UK are living with life-threatening conditions. In 2010, around 1,000 children will turn to us to have their special wish granted.
£10 will buy lunch for a child who wishes for a special visit to London
£20 pays for a sparkly tiara to help fulfil a little girl’s wish to be a princess for the day
£50 buys the special uniform for a boy who wishes to be a soldier, policeman or fireman for the day

£1,000 will buy accommodation at Disneyland Resort Paris for a wish child’s whole family
Mount Kilimanjaro is situated in Tanzania and is the tallest mountain in Africa (5895m). Taking into account its impressive height and the number of kilometres we will have to cover in such a high altitude environment, this venture will certainly be the most physically as well as mentally demanding challenge in our lives. In fact, the vast majority of people who try to climb Mount Kilimanjaro at some point suffer from altitude sickness. During the summit ascent most people encounter problems connected to shortage of breath, headaches and vertigo. Nevertheless, we will do our best !!!
We will very much appreciate any form of support. By making a donation you will contribute to making a huge difference
