Every year Birmingham St Mary's Hospice cares for about 1,000 people whose lives are drawing to a close because of illness, usually cancer. The fundamental aim is to help patients to enjoy the best quality of life possible for whatever time they have left and to support families in their bereavement for as long as needed.

My story

Sadly on the 29th August 2009 our mother, Trish Rodsett passed away at home peacefully. After successfully beating Cancer and having been given the all clear, she was suddenly taken from us.

Everyone who knew our Mum knew a strong, happy, enthusiastic, hard working woman, who loved her daughters and geriatric dog. She had many friends and enjoyed comedy nights, wine and even country dancing on occassion with her best girlfriends!

She was one of a kind and irreplaceable, we will always miss her.

We decided that she would have approved of donations to her favourite charities rather than flowers.
