We help deaf children to learn to listen and talk.

Story

TwistedPair, known for their strong teamwork ethic, have decided to put this to the test in a 10k mud and obstacle course for charity next year!

This test of endurance combines distance running with a variety of game show-inspired obstacles (think Gladiators, Ninja Warrior and Total Wipeout!), all for local Children’s charity The Elizabeth Foundation.

“We thought that he would never be able to speak to us... Nor, more importantly, would he ever be able to hear us tell him we love him.” Parent of profoundly deaf little boy.

The Elizabeth Foundation helps deaf babies and pre school children learn to listen and speak. They are there to support and inform families from the moment their child is diagnosed with any degree of hearing loss. This year over 80 babies, toddlers and pre-school children will attend specialist education programmes and get individual speech and language therapy.

About the charity

The Elizabeth Foundation is a Family Centre with baby, toddler and pre-school sessions for deaf children and their families. We follow the 'Multi Sensory Oral Approach', to develop speech, language and listening skills by using all of the child's senses in a natural, fun, child-centred environment.
