I am raising money for Building Hope, a small charity organisation that I helped to set up with some of my friends. I am running the Manchester 10K in memory of Katryn Curran, a young mother of three who lost her brave battle against cancer on 4th March 2011. Katryn was very supportive of Building Hope and raised thousands of pounds after taking part in the Great North Run in September 2010.

I did not really get to know Katryn until I heard about her illness from a friend. Katryn had this amazing gift of reaching out and touching us all. I was amazed by the way Katryn dealt with her illness; her faith kept her strong and she never gave up hope.
