They say its always good to set yourself a challenge so I have felt the fear and decided to dive straight in to the very murky waters of open water swimming. I will be swimming the mile route at the Royal Victoria Dock as part of the Great British Swim on Saturday 3rd July. The distance isn't the problem (I think) but the cold water and thoughts of bodies, rats and shopping trolley's in the water is a cause of concern, plus the dread of being seen out (and possibly captured on TV) wearing a wetsuit (its not a good look for me)! Fortunately I will not have to be goose greased up, which is pleasing news for a veggie.
I'm raising money for Standing Together Against Domestic Violence, a bloomin' marvellous cause very close to my heart. They do a fantastic job and I'm glad to be getting wet, freaked out and cold for them!
Please visit their site www.standingtogether.org.uk for info on what they do and the difference your sponsorship will make to them.
