My story
I am taking a week out to walk from Reading to Wales.
At that point I am collapsing in a heap on the floor. I'm doing this alone; sleeping in fields like a wildling, and eating supermarket sandwiches. Hopefully the only thing falling on me will be sunshine, and not rain or a cow in the night. It won't be easy, but I'm looking forward to getting away from the rat race for a while, and challenging myself a bit.
Please donate a bit of money to the Mayhew Animal home. Charity isn't my motivation for walking, but the opportunity is there to help animals that are treated badly, abused and unwanted so why not? They're a rescue centre in London for unwanted and abused cats, dogs and other animals. Check out what they do here, and then deploy your plastic.
There is a map of my route below. This may be subject to change as I plan what I'm doing, but distance and approximate route will remain the same. The majority of my route is The National Cycle network Route 4. One way journey is approximately 100 miles. I will be stumbling off on the 22nd July 2012 and hopefully arriving 4 or 5 days later.
I've planned my route using sustrans.org.uk.
If anybody wants to meet me along the way and buy me a tasty flagon of ale it'd be most welcome :-)
