Updated August 2010
We have now completed our climb of all three mountains! Hooray!!
Our first was Ben Nevis. We set out on what was a beautiful day, but as you will see from the photos, unfortunately the top half of the mountain was covered with very thick cloud and visibility was not great. It was a very cold 3 degrees at the top and raining, so we didn't spend much time there before heading back down. Our total walk took 9 1/2 hours.
Second was Scafell Pike. The weather was absolutely perfect for us. At the top, although slightly chilly in the wind, we had an amazing 360 degree view all round and felt absolutely elated on reaching the top.
Our last mountain was Snowdon. We have to say this felt fairly easy after the last two, but we're not sure if that's because we'd had plenty of practice! We set off on a clear day and just had a little bit of light cloud at the top. We also enjoyed a hot chocolate, which was very much appreciated! Unfortunatley half way down it started raining and continued for the rest of the day.
We're so pleased to have achieved such a challenge. x
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are all cousins and this summer we will be climbing the '3 peaks', namely Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
This is our biggest challenge yet! In the past we have walked the coast path from Weymouth to Poole and last year we spent a week hiking the New Forest.
Lewis Manning Hospice is very dear to our heart. They took great care of our grandad when he was terminally ill with cancer and we feel we would like to do what we can to help them in return. As mentioned, this is our biggest challenge yet, not only for climbing the mountains, but this year we have set ourselves a target of £1,000 and would ask for your help in making this possible. So please, if you could make a donation, no matter how small, it all adds up and helps us to help Lewis Manning care for people. To see what a great job they do, take a look at their website http://www.lewis-manning.co.uk/
