Story
Two years ago I wouldn’t have run for a bus. But now, in 2011, I find myself poised to take part in the London Marathon and on the 17th April I will be pounding the city streets and running 26.2 miles. Who would have thought?! Almost half the woman I used to be – literally – this will be the culmination of many months of training. And what a way to celebrate my 50th birthday too. Definitely a year that I wont forget.
My aim is to raise £2600 for Demelza – that’s £100 for every mile of the marathon. As Director of Care at Demelza my inspiration and my motivation to succeed comes from the children and families that are cared for by the charity. Every day our families face enormous challenges and yet they keep going, determined to make the most of every day. I shall do the same on April 17th.
So please be as generous as you can and help to support the work of Demelza. Every penny will make a difference.
And, please, no birthday presents this year – a donation to the fundraising pot instead would be gift enough.
Thank you
