Thank you for visiting our page and hopefully making a donation before you go!
We’re asking for this donation for 2 reasons. First off, we didn’t want wedding presents (what on earth could we ask for at our age??!!) but knew you generous lot would want to buy us something because that’s what you do at weddings, it’s tradition!! So, the perfect compromise was raising money for charity. This would give us a warm glow (I know, I know but I'm being honest!) and hopefully you too! The RSPCA do excellent work and this money will not go to waste. You were supposed to be able to make a donation on the day but our wedding planner mucked it up and the opportunity was missed.
Some people did give us cash in a card so we’ve kept the cash and made a donation in your name on one or both of these pages as appropriate using our credit card. This way the charity get’s the additional gift aid which means more £££ for them but exactly the same donation from you.If you gave us a cheque in a card, you can also make a donation as above because I still have the cheques and don’t plan to send them to the respective charities until mid October. All you have to do is use your credit card to make a donation on one of these pages (for the original amount you gave us + a donation for your drinks please – you know how much you drank so we’ll let you decide what you want to give!) and then let either myself or Paul know via his work, mobile, email, text or when you see one of us. Then we’ll tear up your cheque.....probably. Only kidding, of course we will!!
The second reason is because we didn’t want the free bar to be....well....completely free! We saw it as another fantastic opportunity to raise money for charity. We thought about making each drink £1 but then we would have penalised the families who were only drinking soft drinks. So, we thought why not just let you decide how much you’d like to pay. Again, there was supposed to be a way for you to donate when you went to the bar but again, the wedding planner cocked up!However, you know how much you drank (vodka luge anyone??!!) or didn’t drink as the case may be so I’ll leave it in your (GENEROUS!!) hands......
Seriously though, anything you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thanks – Wendy and Paul!
