Hi all
Over a pint one night myself, Scott, Derek and Fraser thought it would be a REALLY good idea to walk the 96 miles of the West Highland Way, unfortunately the only time we can all get together is 5 days in September, undeterred and APPARENTLY confident that we could walk 19 miles a day, our challenge will start on Monday 13.
The charity we have chosen to support is a cancer charity called
Tak Tent. They are a small charity that offers a number of support services. It
is quite important to remember that these services are not just for those who
have been diagnosed as having cancer, in many cases, the family, friends and
carers may also need this unique support.
They offer a wide range of services from support
groups, counselling, complementary therapies, information about individual
illnesses and possible treatment.
Tak Tent comes from old Scots and means "take care". The
letters used in Tak Tent also have a great significance in what they do:
T = Trust
and confidentiality
A = All
ages and all backgrounds
K = keeping
in touch
T = Time to
talk
E =
experiences shared
N = New
friends
T = Time to
listen
Tak Tent is unique in this area and I know that cancer has affected so many of your lives in some way, family friends and loved ones. With that in mind I would ask you dig deep for whatever you can manage as every single penny helps with this cruel and heartless disease.
Kind RegardsNeil, Scott, Derek and Fraser
