My story

Hi all as a lot of you know I lost a very special lady on the 4th of January 2000, my mum!

After fighting her illness like a warrior for nearly 5 years, Cancer unfortunately and sadly won!

For my mums last couple of days with us she spent time at St Luke's Hospice where the staff did an amazing job taking care, of not only my mum but also my entire family.

Unfortunately my family’s heartache did not end there! One month later my brother also passed away at the age of 24 to join our mum in heaven.

This is why I am making it my mission to raise as much money as I possible and to make everyone aware of St Luke's Hospice!

On the 20th August 2012 I will be jumping out of a plane from 15,000ft in the name of St Luke's Hospice, I want to raise as much money as I possibly can for St Luke's so they can continue to do an amazing job and give the best care they can to others, like they did for my mum,

Please dig deep for this amazing charity no amount is too small and every penny will be very much appreciated not only by myself but everyone at St Luke’s, Staff and patients.

My charity

St Luke's Hospice Plymouth

St Luke's Hospice Plymouth

Charity Registration No. 280681

When faced with the reality of coping with life-limiting illness, we believe that all patients should be entitled to the very best care available. St Luke´s has been providing specialist palliative medical and nursing care, free of charge, to patients from Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall for more than twenty-five years. A registered charity, we are passionate about offering our patients dignity and choice at a time in their lives when they may feel they have none. Our vision is to provide the best end of life care to all patients wherever their `preferred place of care´ might be - Hospice, Hospital or Home. The St Luke´s network of care stretches far beyond the walls of the Hospice inpatient unit at Turnchapel, Plymouth reaching out to more than 2,000 patients each year. Alongside the specialist medical and nursing care, patients are also offered practical, financial, emotional and spiritual support. Government funding covers less than 30% of the cost of caring for inpatients. We therefore have to raise at least £3.5 million from the local community every year so the fundraising never stops! That is why your donation and support is so important.
